Kyiv TSUM Reconstructs Underground Crosswalk in Khreshchatyk Street

Stolichny TSUM Company (a part of ESTA Group) won the investment tender for reconstruction of the underground crosswalk in Khreshchatyk Street. The project was initiated by the Kyiv City Administration.  TSUM got the right to lease the underground crosswalk for repair works. Within this project, the company plans not only to reconstruct the underground crosswalk interior, but also to replace utilities, lighting system, to make it energy efficient, and to place the infrastructure facilities for Kyiv residents and guests of the city, including information terminals, ATMs, etc. “Today, we commit ourselves to reconstruction of the underground crosswalk between B. Khmelnitsky Street and Khreshchatyk Street, - says Maksim Gromadtsov, CEO of ESTA Holding - All works carried out within this project will be aimed primarily at improving the reliability and quality of the pedestrian crosswalk. Our main goal is to make the crosswalk as comfortable and safe for Kyiv residents as possible. Reconstruction of the underground crosswalk in Khreshchatyk Street is a part of our contribution to the development of Kyiv infrastructure”.Particular attention will be given to physically-challenged people. The company also studies the technical feasibility of arranging a separate exit from the underground crosswalk to TSUM. At the same time, it is not planned to arrange the outlets and sales areas in the underground crosswalk. Kyiv TSUM will continue to monitor the state of the underground crosswalk after reconstruction.
